Christy Shields
August 30, 1958 - January 21, 2010

Christy “Chris” Ann Shields, daughter of Leroy Marvin and Ruth Eloise Tenley Ruchotzke, was born August 30, 1958. She was a 1976 graduate of Lincoln High School. On July 17, 1982, Chris was united in marriage to Joe Allen Shields in Stanwood. She was employed as a fork lift driver for Oral-B in Iowa City for 27 years and was past Union Steward for Teamster’s Local 238.

Chris is survived by her husband, Joe Shields of Mechanicsville, Iowa; daughters, Jodi (Travis Galloway) Shields of Mechanicsville, Erin (Brad) O’Rourke of Tipton; sons, Matt (Ashley) Shields of Mechanicsville, Jack (Sue) Shields of Blaine, Minnesota; grandchildren, Katie, Kaleb, and Kassidie Galloway, Micah McDowell, Hannah and Maci O’Rourke, Addison and Trevin Shields, Sara, Julia, Jace, and Jackson Shields; sisters, Connie (Don) Albaugh of Cedar Rapids, Cathy Ruchotzke of Cedar Rapids, Rox (Kerry) Koch of Marion, Barb (Alex) Taylor of Cedar Rapids; brother, Kirk (Betta) Ruchotzke of Overland Park, Kansas, Craig Ruchotzke of Iowa City; special niece, Lori (Jim) Hannan along with several other nieces and nephews; and her dog, Ug. She was preceded in death by her parents. A general memorial fund has been established in memory of Chris.
