FLOYD GARRETT MUSCATINE, Iowa - Floyd B. Garrett, 70, of 1518 Lincoln Blvd., died Saturday, March 22, 2003, at the Harlingen Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas. Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. The Rev. Paul Ostrem will officiate. Pallbearers will be David Duggan, Tim Duggan, Bobby Duggan, Matt Everhart, Eric McCleary, Shane McCleary, Evan Sensor, and Josh Todd. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Mr. Garrett was born on July 29, 1932, in Eliza, Illinois, the son of James and Dorothy Fuller Garrett. His first marriage was to Ruth Alexander on March 17, 1951, in Muscatine. She preceded him in death in 1984. He later married Norma Tucker on June 10, 1993, in Davenport. He was a member of the Moose Lodge. He worked at Grain Processing for 38 years retiring in 1988. He had a life long love of the Mississippi and enjoyed fishing and boating. Since retirement he spent his summers at his cottage on the Mississippi and during the winter they enjoyed traveling in their motor home and wintering in the south. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Norma Garrett of Muscatine; one son, Steve Garrett and his wife, Laurel, of Grandview; three daughters, Kristine Duggan and her husband, Steve, Karen Everhart and her husband, Dave, and Diane McCleary and her husband, Jerry, all of Muscatine; three step-sons, Ed Todd and his wife, Tammy, of Muscatine, Michael Todd of Wilton, and Roger Todd and his wife, Marilyn, of Muscatine; two step-daughters, Barbara Miller of Muscatine and Cindy Sensor and her husband, Wayne, of Shreveport, Louisiana; 18 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Sophia Lenoch and her husband, John, of Iowa City. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, and one brother, Wayne Garrett.
