Ronald Archibald WAPELLO, Iowa - Ronald Dan Archibald, 89, Wapello, died Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at the Wapello Nursing and Rehab Center. Services are 1 p.m. Friday at the Wapello Cemetery. The Rev. May N. Pugh will officiate. Alana Poage will provide the vocal music. There is no visitation. The Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello is in charge of the arrangements. A memorial fund has been established for the First Presbyterian Church and the Wapello Community Ambulance Service. Mr. Archibald was born on Jan. 7, 1914 in Wapello, the son of Millard Fillmore and Bessie Pritchard Archibald. He married Mary E. Schwob on Jan. 17, 1942 in Kahoka, Mo. He attended school in Wapello. He was a carpenter contractor. He was a veteran in the army during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Morning Sun and a member of the Ducks Unlimited and a former member of the Louisa County Izaak Walton League. He was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed playing bridge and bowling. He had also been a hunting guide. Survivors include his wife, one daughter, Ronni Kay Davis of Wichita Falls, Texas; one granddaughter, Megan Elizabeth Davis of London; one grandson, Brady Christopher Davis of Wichita Falls, Texas; and two brothers, Donald Archibald of Phoenix and Kenneth Archibald of Green valley, Ariz. He was preceded in death by his parents.
