LONE TREE, Iowa - Clara Guthrie, 84, Lone Tree, died Monday, Aug. 1, 2005, at Windmill Manor, Coralville, after an extended illness. Burial will be at the Lone Tree Cemetery. Casket bearers are Dean Dauber, Kevin Dauber, Aaron Floyd, Jim Dunn, Rob Legislador, Scott Lutz and Zachary Floyd. Honorary casket bearer is Greg Dauber. Memorials may be directed to Lone Tree Fire and Rescue. Mrs. Guthrie was born May 20, 1921, in Pocahontas, Iowa, the daughter of Claus and Trintje Dornath Ziegler. She married Clyde Guthrie on Dec. 20, 1942, in Yuma, Ariz. She enjoyed her flowers, being outdoors, and most of all; she dearly loved to spend time with her family. Survivors include her husband; a son, James Guthrie and wife Colene of Iowa City; two daughters, Doris Dauber and Clara Lutz and husband Daryl, all of Lone Tree; seven grandchildren, Greg Dauber and Diane Litvak of Lone Tree, Kevin Dauber and wife Mindy of North Liberty, Dean Dauber and wife Tanya of Lone Tree, Scott Lutz and Jennifer Stifel of Helena, Ala., Kelli Floyd and husband Adam of Lone Tree and Angela Dunn and husband Jim and Stephanie Legislador and husband Robert, all of Marion; nine great-grandchildren, Courtney, Blake and Brady Dauber, Zachary and Nicholas Floyd, Drake and Chase Dauber and Connor and Ryan Dunn; three brothers; Richard Ziegler, Carl Ziegler and Jasper Ziegler; and two sisters, Marie Kober and Minnie Williams. She was preceded in death by two sons, Clyde Dean in 1969 and Terry in 1975; a brother, LeRoy Ziegler; and a sister, Rose Fagan.
