Services: 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, St. Patricks Church, Iowa City. Visitation: 4-7:30 p.m. today, with a 4:30 p.m. rosary and 7 p.m. vigil service, Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service, Iowa City. Grace A. Crowley, 89, formerly of 1129 W. Benton, Iowa City, and a resident of Walden Place died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005, surrounded by her family at Mercy Hospital. The Rev. Rudolph Juarez will officiate the services. Burial will be at Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Catholic Community Foundation. Mrs. Crowley was born Jan. 25, 1916, in Seneca, Wis., the daughter of George and Desire Ann DuCharme Becwar. She was raised in Prairie du Chien, Wis., where she was a graduate of Prairie High School. She married Peter P. Crowley on March 1, 1938. He preceded her in death in 1984. She had been employed at University of Iowa Hospitals where she cared for oncology patients and later was a nurse's aid at Oaknoll Retirement Residence. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society and St. Patrick's prayer line. The most important things to her were her family and her church. She loved making homemade apple pies for the family, reading and feeding the birds in her yard. She and her husband loved to dance, a gift they passed on to all their children. Survivors include four children, Tom Crowley and wife Barb and their children, Heather and Colin, all of Iowa City, Gary Crowley and wife Margaret of West Liberty and their children, Maureen Hanrahan and husband Patrick of Phoenix, Brian Crowley and wife Julie of Columbus, Ind. and Bret Crowley and wife Valerie of Coralville, Marilyn Delsing of Iowa City and her children, Scott Delsing and fiancé Brenda of Iowa Falls, Troy Delsing and wife Angie of Coralville and Christina Randall and husband Greg of Boise, Idaho and Judy Crowley Lantz of Aurora, Colo. and her children, Brad Lantz and wife Amy of Durango, Colo. and Major Mark Lantz and wife Andrea of Layton, Utah; two sisters, Mae Romanek and husband Carl of Rockford, Ill. and Julia Holmes of Prairie du Chien; three sisters-in-law, Florence and Janelle Becwar, both of Prairie du Chien, and Theresa Crowley of Boscobel, Wis. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son-in-law, Jon Delsing; five brothers; and one sister.
