November 24, 1934 - May 15, 2006

Jeanette Peck MONTPELIER, Iowa -- Jeanette Peck, 71, Montpelier, died Monday, May 15, 2006, at her home surrounded by her family after an extended and courageous battle with cancer. Funeral Service will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 19, 2006, at the St. Andrew Catholic Church, 333 W. Lotte St., Blue Grass. Burial will be at Montpelier Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 2006, at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Memorials may be made to St. Andrew's Church or to the Brad Peck Memorial Scholarship Fund. Mrs. Peck was born Nov. 24, 1934, in Muscatine, the daughter of Les and Medrith Richards Bird. She married Robert Lawrence Peck and they have celebrated more than 54 years of marriage. She and her husband were blessed with a daughter and two sons. She had been employed at Davenport Lutheran Home for many years. She was very proud of her family, she even stated in writing, "I want to thank you all for what a beautiful family and life I've had, I love you all." Survivors include her husband; her children and their families, son, Robert Owen Peck and wife Lizabeth of Montpelier and their children, Douglas Robert Peck stationed with the U.S. Navy in Norfolk, Va. and Jamie Renee Peck of Montpelier, son, Thomas Eugene Peck of Muscatine and special friend Michelle and his children, Melissa Marie Durst and husband Matt and Stephanie Jo Peck, all of Blue Grass, daughter, Susan Jeanette Hutchison and husband Louis Leroy of Walcott and their daughters, Toni Lynne Arkless and husband Josh, Teri Sue Ray and husband Mike, all of Davenport, and Kelli Kristen Hutchison of Walcott and their son, Louis Robert Hutchison stationed with the U.S. Navy in Norfolk; great-grandchildren, Regan Grace and Braeden Leigh Arkless, Lauren Marie Durst and Karlee Ann Peck; her mother, Medrith Messinger and husband Alvin; brothers, Dale Bird and wife Lori and Jerry Bird, all of Montpelier; sister, Carol Satarus of Muscatine; sister and best friend, Judy Tucker and husband Jerry of Montpelier; many nieces, nephews, cousins; and very special friends, Deloris, Rose and Nancy; a sister-in-law, Mae Bird; and a brother-in-law, Dick Peck. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Edgar Tony, Joseph "Bing" and Marvin; a grandson, Bradley Thomas Peck; a daughter-in-law, Joan Marie Peck; and her father.
