Anna Marie Rittenhouse
June 11, 1940 - December 7, 2006

ANNA RITTENHOUSE CARROLLTON, Texas #45;- Anna Marie Rittenhouse passed away Dec. 7, 2006, at her home in Carrollton, Texas, after a yearlong battle with cancer. A beloved wife, mother and grandmother, she was 66 years old. She was born Anna Marie Brei on June 11, 1940, in Muscatine, Iowa. She married Myron John Rittenhouse on Nov. 14, 1959, and they moved to Carrollton, Texas, in 1972. Mrs. Rittenhouse was a devoted, enthusiastic stay-at-home mom who raised four children. She worked part-time for several years at Newman Smith High School, and worked full time for twelve years as the receptionist at Christ Our King Church in Southlake, Texas. She is survived and lovingly remembered by husband, Myron, son, Brian and wife, Julie, daughter, Sarah and husband, Morris Forman, daughter, Julia and husband, Clark Hausmann, daughter, Amy and husband, Paul Nowotney, and 10 grandchildren: Stephen, Adam, Kimberley and Andrew Rittenhouse; Rachel, Alicia and Luke Forman; Nicholas and Jessica Hausmann; and Eric Nowotney. As the youngest of seven children, she is survived by her sister, Marilyn Weikert, and four brothers and sisters-in-law: Ron and Kathryn Brei, Richard and Karen Brei, Henry and Mary Brei and Ken and Dorothy Brei. Mrs. Rittenhouse was preceded in death by her parents, Allie and Theresa Vance Brei, and a sister, Gladys Rohwer. She was a beloved member of Christ Our King Church. A service celebrating Mrs. Rittenhouse's life was held at 10:00 a.m. December 12, 2006 at the church with Rev. David E. Whitington officiating. The Muscatine visitation will be from 10:00 am till service time and funeral service will be at 10:45 a.m. Friday December 15, 2006 at Ralph J. Wittich, Riley, Freers Funeral Home, 1931 Houser St., followed by interment in Gilbert Cemetery. The Rev. Brian Saunders, of Our Savior Lutheran Church, will officiate. Pallbearers will be Brian Rittenhouse, Morris Forman, Clark Hausmann, Paul Nowotney, Michael Weikert and Jeffery Weikert. In lieu of flowers, a charitable contribution may be made in Anna's name to the Missions Fund of Christ Our King Church, 2221 E. Southlake Blvd., Southlake, Texas 76092-6601.
