CONESVILLE, Iowa -- Thelma E. Paulding, 95, of Conesville, died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007, at her home. The Rev. Ramona Wink will officiate. Burial will be in the Indian Creek Cemetery. Casketbearers are Paul Goldstein, David Goldstein, Scott Burgmeyer, Steven Paulding, Andy Wink and Tim Wink. Honorary casketbearers are Josh Burgmeyer and Abby Burgmeyer. Following the service, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Columbus Junction American Legion. Memorials may be directed to the Thelma Paulding Scholarship Fund. Mrs. Paulding was born Feb. 6, 1912, in Marion County, the daughter of George H. and Edna N. (Croy) Agan. On Nov. 11, 1933, she married James W. Paulding in Knoxville, Iowa. She began teaching in rural schools when she was 18 years old, first in Marion County and then the Cotter School for a total of 20 years. She graduated from Iowa Wesleyan College with a bachelor's degree. She was a past member of the N.E.A. and Eastern Star and was known as a wonderful homemaker, teacher, quilter and gardener. She will be dearly missed by her husband; two sons, James E. Paulding and his wife, Helga, of Parker, Colo. and Thomas L. Paulding and his wife, Mary Frances, of Hillsboro, Ill.; a daughter, Barbara J. Moody and her husband, Kirk, of Russell, Iowa; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Agan, of Davenport. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Buster, Don and John; and a sister, Dana Bolton.
