PAUL E. SMITH MUSCATINE, Iowa #45;- Paul Edward Smith, 60, of Muscatine, died Sunday, September 2, 2007, at his home. Funeral Service will be 3 p.m. on Thursday September 6, 2007, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, 1931 Houser Street. Reverend Charles Zeck of the First United Pentecostal Church will officiate the service. Casketbearers are Randy Smith, Edwin Steinke, Jerry Miller, Frank Lascelles, Bill Hepker and Bill Stalkfleet. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 5, 2007, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family in care of Sabrina Smith. Paul was born on June 24, 1947, in Muscatine, the son of Paul Alvin and Faye Elizabeth Dennis Smith. He married Sabrina Ferreira on August 28, 1987, in Muscatine. Paul was a Vietnam veteran serving in the US Marines. Paul worked at Monsanto for 36 years, retiring in 2005 and was currently working at Boche Plumbing. He enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Sabrina Smith of Muscatine; two sons, Joel R. Smith and wife, Jenny, of North Liberty and Randy S. Smith and wife, Deb, of Muscatine; two daughters, Laurie L. Smith and fiance, Nick Sharar, of Muscatine and Megan E. Smith and fiance, Cody Welge, of Muscatine; one granddaughter Jordyn Smith of North Liberty; three brothers, Dorlan Smith and wife, Irene, of Louisa County, Earl Smith of Muscatine, and Chet Smith and wife, Bev, of Louisa County; two sisters, Faye Deloris Cole and husband, Russell, of Muscatine and Bessie Lascelles and husband, Frank, of Muscatine. Uncle Paulie will be greatly missed by his nieces and nephews and also his camping buddies at N amp; L Campground He was preceded in death by his parents and his step-mother, Mildred Smith.
