In loving memory of

Barbara Lee Van Horn
March 23, 1933 - July 22, 2021

Barbara was born on March 23, 1933 in Springfield, MO. She graduated from Springfield High School in 1950, and attended Southwest Missouri State University for 2 years. She worked for the Richardson Independent School District for 25 years and was serving as the secretary of the Psychology Department when she retired.

Barbara made her profession of faith during her childhood. She loved the Lord and her church, The Heights, where she was an active member for 55 years. She taught Ladies Bible Study for 40 years and even wrote a book based on her study of the Book of Revelations. She also taught Sunday School for 50 years in many age groups, including Adults and Single Adults, and counseled many couples in preparation for marriage. She served on two Pastor Search Committees, which resulted in calling Earl Craig and Phil Lineberger to be pastors of The Heights. She also served on various church committees.

Barbara loved her granddaughters and grandson, and never missed any events they were a part of, even if they happened to be on multiple nights during the week. Her favorite things were God's Word, playing bridge, going to the lake, time with family, and trips with friends.

Barbara will be interred with her husband Gale, to whom she was married to for 64 years, at DFW National Cemetery.
