March 4, 1936 - April 21, 2008

Shirley Meisinger WILTON, Iowa - Shirley G. Meisinger, 72, of Wilton, died Monday, April 21, 2008, at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus in Davenport. Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 25, 2008, at the United Methodist Church, Wilton. Reverent Tom Zeleny will officiate. Musical selections will be provided by organist Kathy Luethye and vocalist Henry Bentley. Serving as casket bearers will be Mike Lamp, George Boldt, Merrill Knouse, Mark Knouse, Gary Peterson, Ron Allmandinger. Interment will take place at the Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 on Thursday, April 24, 2008, at the Bentley Funeral Home, Wilton. Additional visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial donations may be made to United Methodist Church, Wilton, in her memory. Mrs. Meisinger was born March 4, 1936, the daughter of Robert and Violet Stratton Witmer in Muscatine. She married Kenneth E. Meisinger on July 3, 1954, at Trinity Church, rural Moscow. She graduated from Wilton High School in 1953. She was the secretary to the Wilton High School principal for 30 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Wilton and the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed church activities. She was active and promoted prayer shawl ministries both in her church and in her travels. She enjoyed summer RV camping with friends and family. She and Ken wintered in Rockport, Texas, for the past 10 years. She enjoyed doing craft work. Above all, she loved her family and the time she spent with them. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband, Kenneth Meisinger of Wilton; a daughter, Laurie Rose and husband, Jim, of Wilton; a son, Bruce Meisinger and wife, Marsha, of Waterloo; four grandchildren, Nathan Meisinger, Mackenzie Meisinger, Julie Danenhauer and husband, Brian and Matthew Rose and wife, Emily; three great- grandchildren; and a sister, Phyllis Amerine and husband, Jerry, of Muscatine. She was preceded in death by her parents.
