MARIE FRIDLEY MUSCATINE, Iowa - Marie E. Fridley, 82, of Muscatine, died Monday, June 30, 2008, at Unity Hospital. Dr. Hal Green of the Wesley United Methodist Church will officiate the service. Honorary Bearers will be Ken Harned, Mike Borgstadt, Ron Ruess, Ted Colschen, Dan Colschen, and Ed Kopf. Casket bearers will be Brandon Harned, Kyle Harned, Danny Reuss, Jeff Harper, Steve Harper and Kory Kopf. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Muscatine Humane Society or the Wesley United Methodist Church. Marie was born on October 6, 1925, in Muscatine, the daughter of Arthur and Jennie Naber Frye. She was first married to Sgt. Stephen L. Edgington on February 26, 1944, in Burlington. He was killed in action on August 4, 1944 in World War 2. She then married Bernard Fridley on September 9, 1949, in Muscatine. She graduated from Muscatine High School in 1944. She worked for seventeen years at the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company and then worked at Muscatine Veterinary Hospital for seventeen years retiring in 1989. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Bernard Fridley of Muscatine; one sister, Dorothy Koehler and husband, Jack, of Rock Island, Illinois; an aunt and uncle, Stella and Prentice York of Tipton; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father; her first husband; two sisters, Grace Morford and Betty Koll; one niece, Cynthia Colschen Rose; and one nephew, Stephen Joel Borgstadt.

"I wish i could of found out sooner of Aunt Maries passing, we were in the midst of moving when we heard which was on july 4, i enjoyed emails from Marie and her snicker pie and chocolate chip cookies we will all miss her she was a truly wonderful lady. love you and miss you"
