Henry Emil Kroeger DURANT, Iowa - Henry Emil Kroeger, 84, Tipton, died Tuesday, November 11, 2008, at Cedar Manor Nursing Home in Tipton. Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. on Friday, November 14, 2008, at Bentley Funeral Home, Durant. The Rev.Gaylor Nelson will officiate. Musical selections will be provided by organist Stan Muller. Serving as casketbearers will be Gary Schult, Ron Wenndt, Doug Wenndt, Jerry Kroeger, Allen Kroeger and Cindy Kroeger. Interment will take place at the Durant Cemetery, Durant. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. on Friday, November 14, 2008, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Cedar Manor Nursing Home, Tipton, in his memory. Henry was born on July 7, 1924, to Emil and Mabel Meier Kroeger in Scott County. He married Phyllis M. Johannsen on Dec. 16, 1950, in Davenport. He attended Bunker Hill School. He farmed in Cedar County his entire life. He loved farming and his grandchildren. He was a member of the Cedar County Farm Bureau. He is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife, Phyllis Kroeger of Tipton, a daughter, Beverly Ahlemeyer and husband, Mark, of Shellsburg, his sons: Bruce Kroeger and wife, Kathryn, of Tipton, and Brian Kroeger of Tipton; three grandchildren, Bethany Kroeger Owens and husband, Jeremy, of Cedar Rapids, Allison Kroeger of Elkhorn, Wisconsin, and Christopher Ahlemeyer of Shellsburg; his twin sister, Henrietta Etta Wenndt and husband, Elmer, of Wheatland; a brother, Raymond Kroeger and wife, Joan, of Davenport. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Elmer, Alvin and Leroy Kroeger and a sister, Irene Schult.
