Edward 'Ed' C. Hake
August 29, 1924 - December 14, 2008

Edward C. 'Ed' Hake MUSCATINE, Iowa - Edward C. 'Ed' Hake, 84, of Muscatine, died Sunday, December 14, 2008, at his home. Funeral Service will be 1 p.m. on Friday, December 19, 2008, at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, Wapello. Reverend Don Swanson will officiate. Cremation will follow and burial will be at a later date at the Wapello Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2008, at the funeral home. Edward was born on August 29, 1924, in Ellington, Missouri, the son of John and Anna Harvey Hake. He married Maxine Ellis on July 5, 1944, in rural Muscatine County. He was an over the road truck driver. After retiring, he delivered pizzas for Pizza Hut in Muscatine for seven years. He enjoyed mowing lawns, his grandchildren, and visiting about family history. He is survived by his wife, Maxine Hake of Muscatine; four sons, Gary Hake and wife, Pat, of Granby, Missouri, Sam Hake and wife, Loreta, of Bangor, Maine, Randy Hake and wife, Roxie, of Muscatine, and Russell Hake and wife, Cindy, of Muscatine; a daughter, Nancy Cummins of Rogersville, Missouri; 10 grandchildren, Marsha Sutton, Josh Hake, Lorii Fowler, Christii and Robby MaQuillan, Danny and Theresa Cummins, Angela and Shawn Carlberg, Gina and Brian Lawrence, Randy and Jessica Hake, Melissa and Scott Wheeler, and Jennifer and Kevin Meyer; 17 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a brother, John Hake and wife, Cathy, of Winterhaven, Florida; and a brother-in-law, Homer Christener of Davenport. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Glenda Christener; and a brother, Jack Hake.
