Joe Bob Tinney
March 20, 1948 - September 25, 2021

JB Tinney, family man, entrepreneur & sportsman, passed peacefully into heaven on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at The Houston Methodist Hospital, Houston, Texas after a long battle with lung disease. JB was surrounded by his wife & two daughters. He was 73.

JB is survived by his wife of 41 years, Maryan Tinney; daughter Christy Maloy & husband David of Houston, & their children Colton, Bailey & Tessa Grace; daughter Cody Brown & husband Ryley of Houston, & their daughter Bryleigh Jo; sister Donna Mowrey & husband John of Boerne, Texas; & brother Tom Tinney & wife Judy of Denver, Colorado.
The son of T. J. & Retta Tinney (both deceased), JB grew up in Wichita Falls where he graduated from Rider High School. He chose Baylor University for his BBA degree & Midwestern State for his MBA.

For over 40 years, JB owned & operated Architectural Fabric Systems, specializing in commercial window treatments & stretch wall systems. Known as "The Shade Man" JB developed a superb reputation for state-of-the-art roller shades.

JB's passion for outdoor adventures included safari hunts to Africa, Spain, & New Zealand, whence his many lasting friendships around the world. His passion for hunting extended to helping others through his active support for conservation & outdoor education.

JB's highest priorities & sources of pride & joy were his family. His love for Maryan, his children & grandchildren was unmatched. Memories of family times boating, traveling or simply cooking by the pool were those closest to his heart.

A Celebration of Life service will be Tuesday, October 5th at 1:00 p.m. at Second Baptist Church, Woodway Campus, Hankamer Chapel. A reception will follow, details to be announced at the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Houston Methodist Hospital Foundation or to the Southern Texas Chapter of the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation.
