Edward 'Ed' Carl Rohde
August 2, 1926 - July 2, 2010

EDWARD ED ROHDE MUSCATINE, Iowa - Edward Carl Ed Rohde, 83, of Muscatine, died Friday, July 2, 2010, at his home. Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Pastor Dan Schoepf of Calvary Church will officiate the service. There will be a time of food and fellowship at the American Legion following the service. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at the funeral home. Ed was born on August 2, 1926, in Muscatine, the son of Edward H. and Margaret Stangle Rohde. He married Janice Massey on February 17, 1951, in Muscatine. He served in the US Navy during World War II. He was a self employed business contractor, retiring in 1990. He was a professional archer and was inducted into the Iowa Archer Hall of Fame in 1993, and was also inducted into the Springfield, Missouri Hall of Fame in 2006. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Janice Rohde of Muscatine; one daughter, Sandra Myers and husband, Troy, of Lincoln, Nebraska; a daughter-in-law, Cathy Weikert and husband, Terry, of Fairport; five grandchildren, Nick Rohde and wife, Angie, of Muscatine, Mason Myers and Paige Myers both of Lincoln, Nebraska; Crista DeVore of Atalissa, and Shelly Weeks of West Liberty; six great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, David Rohde in 1996, two great great-grandchildren; and two brothers.
