JUANITA 'NITA' GAULER MUSCATINE, Iowa - Juanita 'Nita' E. Gauler, 83, of Muscatine, died on Thursday, January 27, 2011, at Trinity Hospital - Muscatine. A Private Service will be held at a later date. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Trinity Episcopal Church. 'Nita' was born on July 24, 1927, in Pekin, Illinois, the daughter of Bate and Dortha Trainor Collins. Her first marriage was to Dr. John Wagner on November 27, 1949, in Burlington. He preceded her in death in 1965. She later married Raymond S. Gauler on March 27, 1986, in Los Alamos, New Mexico. She worked as a registered nurse for the Muscatine Community School Systems as a school nurse for 25 years. She was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church, Lady Elks, Ladies of the Moose, and the Athenaeum Club. She was an avid reader and enjoyed ballroom dancing and traveling. Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Raymond S. Gauler of Muscatine; two sons, Eric Wagner and wife, Robin, of Hampton, Iowa, and Kurt Wagner of Bishopville, South Carolina; two daughters, Britt Wagner and husband, Bill Powell, of Hope, Idaho, and Darcie Randleman and husband, Bill, of Solon; a step-son, Allen Gauler of Los Alamos, New Mexico; two step-daughters, Mary Knudsen of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Marcia Stup and husband, Tom, of Los Alamos, New Mexico; 11 grandchildren, Sarah, Ericka, Brendan, Lily, Libby, Tildy, Rose, Rachel, Ben, Christopher, and Brian; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Debbie Collins of Delta, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband; one step-son, John Gauler; and one brother, Bill Collins.
