Frank A. Olomon
May 25, 1924 - June 23, 2011

Mr. Frank A. Olomon, 87, of West Burlington died at 6:25 a.m. Thursday, June 23, 2011, at Blair House Nursing and Rehab.
Born May 25, 1924 in Gilchrist, Illinois, he was the son of Ezra and Eleanor Robbins Olomon. On September 7, 1948 he married Betty Gosling in West Burlington. She preceded him in death on August 21, 1976.
Mr. Olomon attended schools in Mercer, Knox and Fulton Counties in Illinois.
Mr. Olomon was an Army veteran of World War II. He was awarded the Bronze Star, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with bronze star attachment, Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Honorable Service lapel pin.
Mr. Olomon worked at Zaiser's Florist for 45 years, retiring in 1989. He assisted in all facets of growing plants.
He was of the protestant faith and was a member of Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Lowary of Burlington; two sons, Steve Olomon of Mountain Home, Arkansas and David Olomon of Burlington; nine grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren and step great and step great-great grandchildren; four brothers, Harold Olomon of St. Augustine, Illinois, Richard (Marsha) Olomon of Abingdon, Illinois, Glenn (Betty) Olomon of Burlington and Arnold (Sue) Olomon of Eureka, California; one sister, Shirley (Dennis) Tadlock of Burlington and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, four brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Olomon was a brother, a father, and a hero to the Olomon family.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Monday, June 27th, in Lunning Chapel.
The funeral service for Mr. Olomon will be 2:30 p.m. Monday, June 27th, in Lunning Chapel. Pastor Kendall Adams will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. The Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard will conduct military rites. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the time of service.
Memorials have been established for Blair House Activities Fund and Special Needs Foundation.
