Michael Dean Tallman, 36, of Boone, IA passed away at his residence on June 23, 2011.
A celebration of Michael's life will be held from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 26, 2011 at Boone Church of God of Prophecy, 21st & Crawford St. in Boone, IA.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at Community of Christ Church, 3232 Transit Ave, Sioux City, IA with Pastor Barb Joy of United Methodist Church in Hawarden, IA officiating. Visitation with the family present will begin at 9:00 A.M. prior to the service. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Michael was born May 24, 1975 in Sioux City, IA to Robert and Marilyn (Dean) Tallman. He grew up in Sioux City and attended Nodland Elementary School before moving to central Iowa in 1987. He graduated from Ames High School in Ames, IA in 1992. He married Amanda Warren in 2009 in Boone, IA. He was a carpenter and a musician. He loved to laugh and tell stories. He was a great movie fan and a fan of George Carlin and Denis Leary.
He is survived by his wife, Amanda of Boone, IA; his children, Melissa, Scarlett, Gabriel, Alexandria, Matthew, Rachel and Owen Michael all of Boone, IA, and Leah Meredith Kurt of Dubuque, IA; stepchildren, Lora and Mason Warren of Boone, IA; his parents, Robert and Marilyn Tallman of Jackson, NE; four sisters, Kathy (James) Stabler of Colorado Springs, CO, Mandy (Kevin) Engel-Cartie of Sioux City, IA, Andria Nelson of Ankeny, IA, and Jaimee Kalsem and her special friend, Jason Scala of Ames, IA; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by an ex-wife, Angela Spaulding Gottschall of Boone, IA.
Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Evon Tallman, and Bonnie and Emory Dean; an uncle, Conrad Dean; great aunts, Beverly Lovell, Donna Grover; and a special aunt, Geil Dean LaMere.
A light has gone out in the world with his passing. He was a gentle soul.
