"Ed and I were buddies in Springfield Gardens N.Y. We attended school together, with the rest of our gang. Charley Nevejans and George Kotz. I lived around the block, on 220th St. We had many good times together playing handball behind the fire house on Springfield Blvd, and just hanging out in Springfield Park. Then we would all go to Schmeires grocery store on the corner of Springfield Blvd and the Belt parkway, and get a 5 cent soda. Those were the good old days."
