Roy A. Ericson, 86, Green Bay, went to the big trout stream on Monday, March 28, 2005. He was born November 24, 1918, to the late Fritz and Gerda (Holmberg) Ericson in Chicago, Illinois. Roy served his country in the United States Army Air Corp. During World War II, he was stationed in England and Italy and later in Wendover Field, Nevada. He married Anna Mae Potter on August 3, 1946 in Menominee, Michigan; she preceded in him death April 23, 1998. Roy had been the first building inspector for the Village of Ashwaubenon and also served on the planning board. He was employed as a carpenter job superintendent for A. J. Despins and G. M. Hougard Construction Co. Roy was a charter member of Bethany United Methodist Church and had served on many committees over the years. He was an active member of the choir. He was always ready to volunteer his services and expertise. Roy volunteered for the Red Cross and was given the Lakeland Chapter Volunteer of the Year Award for 1994. He was an active member of the Ashwaubenon V. F. W. Post #10244, a member of United Brotherhood Carpenters Local #1146 and the Green Bay Labor Temple Association. Roy enjoyed using his skills in volunteering for Christmas In July, building a church and school mission in Costa Rica and projects for Habitat for Humanity. He is survived by his three children, Greg (Wendy Cooper) Ericson, Madison; James (Maryanne Frank) Ericson, Johnson City, Texas; and Deborah Ericson (Stephen Pinckney), Stoughton; five grandchildren, Evan Miskella, Anna Miskella, Caroline Pinckney, Chloe Ericson and Andrew Ericson; one sister, Margaret Beyer, Chicago; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one son, Steven, one sister and three brothers. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, March 31, at Lyndahl Funeral Home, Lombardi Ave. at Ridge Rd. Visitation will continue after 10:00 A.M. Friday at Bethany United Methodist Church, 1110 Echo Lane, where the funeral service will take place at 11:00 A.M. with the Revs. Jill Quilling, Randell Richter and Pat Green officiating.
