Betty Sturzl

Betty J. Sturzl, 80, Ashwaubenon, died Monday, December 5, 2005 at a local nursing home. She was born March 12, 1925, to the late Walter and Esther (Liebman) Basten in Green Bay. Betty graduated from the Bellin School of Nursing. On April 10, 1948, she married Richard Sturzl at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Green Bay. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church. Betty was co-owner of Sturzl Construction for over 50 years. She enjoyed playing bridge, golfing, bowling and was a member of numerous organizations, including the Green Bay Catholic Women's Club, Sierra International and the Bellin Alumni Association. Betty loved gardening, traveling, entertaining and spending the winter months in Florida. She will always be remembered for the happy times spent in the kitchen with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Richard; her children, Julie Beckstrom, Neenah and her daughter, Christina (Jason) Jungwirth; Mike (Mary Lee) Sturzl, New Franken and their children, Scott Maccoux, Kathryn Sturzl, Nikki Black and Anthony Sturzl; Mary Sturzl and her husband, Martin Tahija, Plymouth, Minnesota and their son, Maxwell Tahija; Nancy (Kenneth) Dingle, Brooklyn Park, Minnesota; Susan (Patrick) Glenn and their children, Emily, Katelyn, and Matthew Glenn; David (Virginia) Sturzl, St. Louis Park, Minnesota and their son, Nathaniel Sturzl; one great-grandaughter, Elizabeth Jungwirth; one sister and brother-in-law, Shirley (Loyal) Siegel; and one brother and sister-in-law, Richard (Dorothy) Basten.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Gary Beckstrom.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, December 8, at Lyndahl Funeral Home where a wake service will be held at 7:30 P.M. Visitation will continue after 10:00 A.M. Friday at St. Agnes Catholic Church were the Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Richard Getchel officiating. Entombment will be at Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
