Russell R. Jacquet, 60, La Belle, FL, formerly of Green Bay, died Sunday morning, July 9, 2006, at his home in Howard. He was born on August 31, 1945 to the late Harrison and Elmira (Lackershire) Jacquet. After graduating from Green Bay East High School in 1963, Russell served in the U.S. Navy from 1965 to 1967. He was employed from American Can until retiring in 1990 and later Four Corp. until retiring again in 2004. On Sept. 22, 1994, he married the former Brenda Blohowiak in Las Vegas. Russell was a member of VFW posts in Seymour and La Belle, FL.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda; seven children and their spouses: Barb and Peter Cedergren, Suamico, Wendy and Paul Woelfel, Chilton, Shaun and Leta Jacquet, Sugar Grove, IL, Jason and Amy Blohowiak, Shiocton, Bobbie and Chris Arneson, Black Creek, Chad and Tara Blohowiak, Green Bay, and Justin Blohowiak, Appleton; 11 grandchildren: Tyler, Preston, Zachary, Hannah, Kaylee, McKenzie, Megan, Melanie, Logan, Kendyl and Noah; three sisters: Lydia Bosman, Sturgeon Bay, Elaine Roskom, Black Creek, and Jean Allen, Howard; two brothers: Harrison Jacquet, Mountain, and Stanley (Lin) Jacquet, Green Bay; mother-in-law, Deloris Blohowiak; eight brothers- and sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Russell was preceded in death by one grandson, Mason; two sisters: Sandy and Millie; and one brother, Sonny; his father-in-law: Gordon Blohowiak; and one brother-in-law: Grant Blohowiak.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at Lyndahl Funeral Home, where a parish wake service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 2770 S. Oneida St., Green Bay, where a Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Dennis Berksbaken officiating. Interment in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Howard.
Russell's children would like to express their deepest gratitude to Brenda for being the most amazing caregiver and activist for him. The family would also like to thank the staff of Unity Hospice for their kindness and compassion.
He is closer to us now then he has ever been before because he's with our other angels whom we all so much adore. Gliding on the wings of an owl, he transcended to Heaven above, we are all comforted by the memories and his unconditional love.
