Leland Hansen

Leland Robert Hansen, 90, Hobart, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, Jan. 20, 2007, at a local nursing home. He was born on Oct. 19, 1916 in Ashwaubenon to the late James and Mattie (Dahnke) Hansen. On Nov. 26, 1942, he married the former Vivian Everard. Together, they successfully farmed in Hobart until his retirement in 1980. Leland graduated from Green Bay West High School in 1938. After attending business school, he worked briefly at Larsen Canning and Wheeler Cheese prior to farming.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Vivian; two daughters: Margaret (Leo) Vande Hei and Jeanette (Dave) Wierer; nine grandchildren: Sherry (Bob) Friesen; Steve, Scott and Stan Hansen; Jim (Kristen) Vande Hei; Pam (Brian) Wondrash; Craig (Tanya) Vande Hei; Jay Wierer (fianc?, Katie Meyer) and Jessica Wierer; eight great grandchildren: Kaylyn and Erick Friesen; Reanna Hansen; Laine and Leigh Vande Hei; and Brittany, Hunter and Lauren Wondrash; one brother: Donald (LaVerne) Hansen; sisters- and brothers-in-law: Gerald (Germaine) Everard, Ted (Sally) Everard, Rich (Jenny) Everard and JoAnne Elbe; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Ronald; two brothers, Lester and Clyde; and several sisters- and brothers-in-law.
Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22, 2007, at Lyndahl Funeral Home, where a time for sharing memories will take place at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue after 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. John Lutheran Church, 2700 Babcock Rd., Ashwaubenon, where funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Dennis Schatt officiating. Entombment in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to the staffs of GranCare Nursing Home, Green Bay, and (previously) Good Shepherd Home, Seymour, for their kind and respectful care of our husband and dad.
