Verna Metscher

Verna E. Metscher, 82, died at a local nursing home Saturday, April 7, 2007. She was born November 21, 1924 to the late John and Leona Lorenzen. On March 22, 1947, she married Robert Metscher who preceded her in death June 16, 1994. Verna had been employed at Fort Howard Paper Company for over 20 years. She had been a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church.
Survivors include three daughters; Candice (George) Lutz, Lindenhurst, IL., Ellen (Dan) Melchior and Amy (Nick) Van De Yacht, all of Green Bay. Six grandchildren; Jordan and Ian Lutz, Nathan Larscheid and Luke Melchior, Justin and Megan Reed. Also survived by three sisters; Marge (Lee) Weber, Sheboygan, Lorraine Schild, Milwaukee, and Leone Buss, Sheboygan; one brother, Arthur Lorenzen, Milwaukee, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert and brother Richard.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. April 10, at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 1731 St. Agnes Dr. Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Tuesday at the church with Rev. Scott Malme officiating. Burial will take place at Fort Howard Memorial Park. Online condolences may be expressed at www.lyndahl.com.
