John La Fond

John P. LaFond, 66, Green Bay, went to be with our eternal Father on Sunday, May 6, 2007, at home with his family by his side after a year long battle with lung cancer during which time he stayed positive and joked until the end. He was born August 30, 1940 to the late Daniel and Agnes (DeNoble) LaFond in Green Bay. On July 28, 1962, he married Madonna Paider in Denmark, Wisconsin. John was employed by Leicht Transfer and Storage, retiring on December 30, 1991. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, fishing, hunting, spending time at his cottage in Townsend, playing cards and B.S.ing with his family and friends. He volunteered his time at The Bridge and attended Celebrate Recovery meetings.
Survivors include his wife, Madonna; his four children, Lisa LaFond and her fianc?e, Bradley W. Berndt, Stiles; Patrick (Terri) LaFond, Green Bay; Cheryl (Steven) Krouth, New Franken; and Paul (Mary) LaFond, Rhinelander; seven grandchildren, Meghan Vandenack, Amanda LaFond, Joshua Hacker and fianc?e, Kari and her daughter, Merra, Ashley M. LaFond, Alyssa Krouth, Britteny LaFond and Casey LaFond; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Richard and Laverne, Thiensville and Loretta LaFond, Green Bay; and one brother-in-law, Florian Sprangers, Florida.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Dr. David J. LaFond and Robert LaFond; and two sisters, Jeanne Baetke and Janis Sprangers.
Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, May 11, at Lyndahl Funeral Home. Visitation will continue after 9:30 A.M. Saturday at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Pine Grove Site, 4767 Stage Coach Road, Denmark, where the Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 A.M. with the Rev. Ron Belitz officiating.
