In loving memory of

Grace Stober
October 18, 2011

Grace Stober, 70, formerly of Green Bay, received her Wings on Thursday, January 10, 2008, after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was born January 31, 1937, to the late Frederick C. and Marie (Rutsay) Mench in Chicago, Illinois. On June 8, 1963, she married Edward R. Stober in Chicago. For 42 years, Grace was a registered nurse, dedicating her love and care to the elderly at various nursing homes in the area. She was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, where she served as a Stephan Minister.
Grace enjoyed life to the fullest and most especially loved the time she got to share with her family and friends. There were no public accolades or awards, just service to a life well lived. Her dedication to God and family was evident in the selfless way she lived her life. Responsibilites to family and dedication to one another took precedent over opportunities for personal betterment. Hardly a day would pass that someone would not quip that they were her favorite, for anybody who crossed paths with her were better because of it. She was a great woman with a strong but soft heart. If she had but one fault, it could be said that she loved too much. She was a treasure that will be sadly missed in this world, but will surely shine from Heaven.
Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Ed, Howards Grove, WI; two sons and two daughters, Kim M. Roes, Green Bay; Edward R. (Ellen) Stober, Jr, Lakeville, Minnesota.; Mary A. (Todd) Danen, Howards Grove; and Michael C. (Julie) Stober, St. Michael, Minnesota; seven grandchildren, Johnathan, Joshua and Jacob Roes; Christian and Kylie Stober; and Alec and Payton Danen.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, June Lightner and her infant twin sister, Mary.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Sunday, January 13, at Lyndahl Funeral Home, where a parish wake service will take place at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue after 10:00 A.M. Monday at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 2270 South Oneida Street, where the Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Dennis Bergsbaken officiating. Entombment will be at the Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Sharon Richardson Hospice, particularly Bonnie Sweeney, her nurse, Dr. Haid and the staff at the Vince Lombardi Cancer Center in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
