Roland RollieĀ L. Heuvelmans, 83, Green Bay, died Monday, September 15, 2008, at a local nursing home. He was born March 5, 1925 to the late Peter and Martha (Fuller) Heuvelmans in DePere, Wisconsin. Roland served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II. On September 25, 1947, he married Elizabeth LeCoque at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Green Bay. He was employed by Fort Howard Paper Mill, retiring in 1987. Roland was a member of the Fort Howard Quarter Century Club and the Ashwaubenon VFW Post #10244. He volunteered his time at St. Joseph Catholic Church and loved his flower gardens.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Betty; his children and their spouses, Gary Heuvelmans (Tori), Green Bay; Kevin and Mary Heuvelmans, Waukesha; Lawrence and Mary Beth Heuvelmans, DeForest, Wisconsin; Susan Heuvelmans, Green Bay; Mary and John Chapman and Lynne and Ron Bauman, all of Atlanta, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Gary Heuvelmans II, Elizabeth and Teresa Heuvelmans, Jacob and Christopher Heuvelmans and Lauren and Alex Bauman; three great-grandchildren, Jasmine Heuvelmans and Mikayla and Noah Heuvelmans; one sister, Shirley Geurts, Escanaba; two brothers, Vernon (Alice) Heuvelmans and Richard (Virginia) Heuvelmans, both of DePere; one brother-in-law, Ken Cormier; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Arlene Cormier and Lorraine and Sylvester Doro and Roman Geurts.
Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, September 18, at Lyndahl Funeral Home where a parish wake service will take place at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will continue Friday after 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1224 12th Avenue, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Donald Everts officiating. Military honors will follow. Burial will be at Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
