George J. Karnas, 83, Ashwaubenon, died Sunday, November 23, 2008, at a local nursing home. He was born November 20, 1925, to the late John and Frances (Bissell) Karnas in Duluth, Minnesota. George served his country in the U. S. Navy during World War II. On November 21, 1953, he married Jean (Boyden) Hanrahan
in Green Bay. He was employed by Ross of LaCrosse, the H. C. Prange Co., and retired from Schauer and Schumacher Furniture Co. He was a charter member of the NE Wisconsin Orchid Society and a choir member and held various offices at St. Paul United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Jean; two sons, James (Jean) Hanrahan and David Karnas; one daughter, Carol (Ray) Neuman; nine grandchildren, Brian (Amber), Sean (Sonja) and Erin Hanrahan and special friend, Rod Cruz; Sally (Scott) Sheroski; Aimee (Joey) Erebia; Josiah Neuman and special friend, Summer Duggan; and Emily Neuman; and Aidan and Ryan Karnas; eight great-grandchildren, Lauren, Michael, Alexandria, Gabby, Joey, Alondra, Caesar and Layla; a brother-in-law, Michael Barankiewicz; and two nephews, George Dubie and Michael Barankiewicz.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Lois Krumn and Elaine Barankiewicz;
