Margaret M. Leicht, 93, Allouez, died Saturday, June 20, 2009. Proud mother and father Leslie and Molly Putnam of De Pere. On November 25, 1936, she married Eugene W. Leicht; he preceded her in death July 31, 1990. Margaret's husband and son, until their passing, were active in RGL Holdings of Green Bay which includes Leicht Transfer & Storage and Checker Logistics of Neenah. Margaret and Russ donated land to the City of Green Bay, now known as Leicht Park. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Green Bay, the P. E. O. Sisterhood, chairwoman of the First Presbyterian Church of Green Bay, Bridge Club, a 3rd and 4th grade Sunday school teacher, former and longtime member of the Women's Club of De Pere, a longtime supporter of the YWCA Women and Vision and a member of the Oneida Golf & Country Club.
Survivors include her niece, Lynn Sileno, daughter of Lucille Putnam LaMarre and Larry LaMarre; other relatives, Ted Leicht, Tom Leicht, Ray Leicht, Nancy Leicht Makuen, Susan Leicht Gritt, Sarah Zucker and John Wright; numerous nieces and nephews and special friends, Jo Leicht, Jan and Lee Rehmers and Tom DeVillers.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Russell Leicht; one brother, Merlin Putnam; and two sisters, Priscilla Bonner and Lucille LaMarre.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 26, at Lyndahl Funeral Home. The funeral service will take place at 9:30 A.M. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church of Green Bay, 200 South Ashland Street with the Rev. Randy Argall officiating. Private interment will take place. In lieu of flowers a memorial fun has been established in Margaret's name for the Brown County Aging and Disability Resource Center, 300 South Adams Street, Green Bay, WI 54301.
