Marie C. LaCount Amundson, 89, Green Bay, died Thursday, November 26, 2009 at her residence. She was born November 2, 1920 to the late Louis and Elsie (Bartels) Bandow in Peshtigo, Wisconsin. Marie was married to Delmer LaCount and he preceded her in death. She later married Dayton Amundson in 1982 and he preceded her in death in January of 2001. She and her husband, Delmer, owned and operated Better Built Wood Products in Anston, Wisconsin. Later, Marie was employed at Krueger Metal in Green Bay and then Thunder Mountain Ranch in Crivitz, where she was active with the Crivitz Rescue Squad. Marie enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, gardening, canning her own produce, music, cooking and being outdoors.
She will be greatly missed by all, including her faithful dog, Skippy.
Survivors include her eight children; Daniel LaCount; David (Carol) LaCount; Kenneth (Sue) LaCount; Louis (Mary) LaCount; Lawrence (LeyAnn) LaCount; Carol (Stephen) DeClerc; Susan (Terry) Alexander; and Edward (Christine) LaCount; four stepchildren, Barb (Rick) Whiting; Dayton (Phyllis) Amundson; Mark (LeeAnn) Amundson; and Craig (Deb) Amundson; one brother, Harry Bandow; 34 grandchildren; and 45 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a grandson, David LaCount and one brother, Louis Bandow III.
Friends may call after 3 pm Monday, November 30, at Grace Lutheran Church, 321 South Madison Street, where the funeral service will take place at 6 pm with the Rev. Richard Schmeling officiating. Burial will be at the Riverside Cemetery in Peshtigo.
The family would like to thank Helen from Bellin Hospital and Nick from Bellin Home Health Care for all of their care and concern given to Marie. A very special thank you to our sister, Carol, and her family for all of the care given through the years so mom could continue to live at home.
