Robert Paulson

Robert C. Paulson, 92, Green Bay, formerly of Naples, Florida where Bob and Dorothy enjoyed 23 years of retirement at Glades Country Club before moving back to Green Bay, died Thursday, February 11, 2010 in Green Bay. He was born February 6, 1918 in Fond du Lac to the late Peter and Laura (Toepelman) Paulson. Robert grew up in Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin and was a graduate of Mt. Horeb High School. In 1955, he became the founder and owner/operator of Paulson Hardware, retiring in 1984.
During World War II, Robert served his country for 4 years and 8 months in the U. S. Army in Australia and New Guinea with Headquarters-135th Medical Regiment. He also served in England, France and Germany and was awarded three bronze stars. He attended Southwest Texas State College in San Marcos, Texas.
On September 28, 1943, he married Dorothy Lohneis at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Madison.
Robert was a life-member of the Elks Lodge #259, a member of the Glades Country Club and the Florida VFW Post #7369. He enjoyed golfing and watching the Packers.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Dorothy; three sons, Alan (Polly) Paulson, Conway, Arkansas; Eric (Pam) Paulson, Green Bay; and Trace Paulson, Green Bay; one granddaughter, Jessica Paulson; and a special cousin, Mardell Hall.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Joseph.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 pm Sunday, February 14, at Lyndahl Funeral Home. Visitation will continue after 2 pm Monday at the funeral home where the funeral service will take place at 3 pm with Rev. John J. Becker presiding. Full military honors will follow. Entombment will be at Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, all contributions may be given to Aurora Visiting Nurses Hospice Association.
