Edward Windorff Jr. 78, Wabeno, formerly of Green Bay, died Monday, March 15, 2010, at his winter home in Sierra Vista, AZ.
He was born on October 11, 1931 in Hiles, WI to the late Edward and Anna (Harkins) Windorff. Ed served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from October 9, 1952 thru October 13th, 1954. On June 28, 1952 he married the former Shirley Babino in Rhinelander, WI. She preceded him in death July 31, 2000. Prior to retirement, Ed worked in the Rhinelander paper mill then became Representative for the Papermaker's Union. He then was elected as Vice President of Region X of the UPIU and held that position until his retirement. After Retirement he spent summers at his cabin on the lake in Wabeno, WI and winters at his home in Sierra Vista, AZ. He enjoyed his grandchildren, golfing, watching the Packers and fishing.
Survivors include: special friend, Joanne Votis, Hiles, WI; two sons, Mike (Darla) and their family, Cory (Carrie) and Eric (Heidi); Mitch (Kathy);stepchildren Nick (Kim) Rebman and Laura Rebman (fiancée Mark Albers) and son, Ryan (fiancée Michelle Peterson); one daughter, Tonia (Dennis) Kielpikowski and their family, Nicole (Jake) Gosdeck and Samantha Hakes (fiancée Mark Roffers); one sister; Betty Combs, Sun City, AZ; two brothers-in-law: Pat Gilley and Tom Babino, Sheboygan; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by granddaughter, Tara Windorff; sisters, Virginia Combs and Rose Gilley; daughter-in- law, Rose Windorff; brother-in-law, Barney Combs.
Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Monday, March. 22, 2010, at Lyndahl Funeral Home, where a memorial service will take place at 7:00 p.m. with the Rev. Benjamin Sember officiating. Inurnment will take place at Nicolet Memorial Gardens. Online condolences may be expressed at www.lyndahl.com.
