Edmund Adamczak

Edmund H. Adamczak, 84, died on Sunday, August 8, 2010 at the Unity Hospice Residence in Ledgeview. He was born on June 15, 1926 in Portage County to the late Peter and Selma (Eickendorf) Adamczak. He served as a corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean era.

He married the former Bernadine Glodowski on May 29, 1952 in Polonia. She preceded him in death on October 30, 2006.

Edmund worked as a route salesman for Fishers Dairy, Fairmont Foods, Marigold Foods and Kemps Dairy. In his retirement, he owned and operated his own laundry service-Nu-Way as well as working at Kohl's Department store. He was also "Mr. Fix-It"to a lot of the children at the Pathways Childrens Centers.

He was an avid fisherman, gardener, and Milwaukee Brewers fan- watching baseball games with his grandson Scott. He also enjoyed deer hunting, traveling, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: Brian and Lynn of Green Bay and Kevin and Denise of Green Bay; four daughters and sons-in-law: Darlene and Richard Lange of Waunakee, Mary and Tom Frederick of Crivitz, Gale and Fran Bloemers of Estero, FL and Eagle River, WI, Lynn and Joel Gmack of Ledgeview; fourteen grandchildren: Nathan, Scott, Robin, Francine, Bryan (Kerry) (and their family: Ethan, Emma, and Evan), Alison (Matt), Wesley, Jordan, Brock, Elyse, Reid, Miranda, Breanna, Alana; and one great-granddaughter Madelyn.

He is further survived by his three brothers: Alois (Eleanore) of Wauwatosa, Peter (Don) of Plover, and Michael (Arlene) of Rome, GA; two sisters: Janet Woyak of Plainfield and Carol (Michael) Hinrichs of Amherst; one brother-in-law Lloyd Adamski of Germantown; and one sister-in-law: Delores of Stevens Point.

Edmund was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Bernadine; brother Earl; and sister Eileen.

Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at the Lyndahl Funeral Home (1350 Lombardi Ave. Green Bay) until 7:00 p.m., when a parish prayer vigil will take place. Visitation will continue at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church (2270 S. Oneida St. Green Bay) after 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 13, 2010 until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. John Becker presiding. Entombment will take place in the Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Edmund's name.

The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff of Woodside Manor for the care over the many years he resided there.
