Karen R. Jansky, 63, Ashwaubenon, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday evening, May 17, 2011, at a local hospital.
She was born on March 14, 1948 in Manitowoc to the late Edwin and Erna (Gruett) Evenson. She was confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church, Valders, on May 5, 1963 and graduated from Valders High School in 1966. Karen was a 1967 graduate of the Wisconsin School of Cosmetology. On Sept. 8, 1973, she married Gregg Jansky in Valders. She had been employed at several banks in the Green Bay area, and was a customer service representative supervisor for Bank Mutual for the past 10 years. Karen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She enjoyed playing cards, traveling, reading and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Gregg; two sons and daughters-in-law: Jason and Erica Jansky, Manitowoc, and Ryan and Suzanne Jansky, Manitowoc; four grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Breanna, Payton and Mia; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Judy Brick and Roxanne and Henry Bubolz, all of Manitowoc; two brothers-in-law: Richard (Janet) Jansky, Apple Valley, MN, and Gerald (Barbara) Jansky, Fond du Lac; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by one brother-in-law: Ronald Brick; and parents-in-law: Allen and LaVerne Jansky.
A gathering of family and friends will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2011, at Lyndahl Funeral Home, Green Bay. Visitation will continue after 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. John Lutheran Church, 2700 Babcock Road, Ashwaubenon, where funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Jennifer Christenson officiating. Inurnment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
A memorial fund has been established.
KarenÃÆ'¢ï¿½ï¿½s family would like to offer their heartfelt thanks to the Good Samaritan who witnessed her accident and stayed with her until help arrived as well as the Brown County SheriffÃÆ'¢ï¿½ï¿½s Dept. and Rescue Squad for their heroic efforts. In addition, her family expresses their deep gratitude to Birgit Ruotsala of St. John Lutheran Church and the doctors and nurses of St. Vincent Hospital for their care and compassion.
