Bonita J. "Bonnie" Katers

Bonita J. "Bonnie" Katers, 72, Green Bay, died Sunday, October 9, 2011 at a local hospital. She was born on Sept. 28, 1939 in Sheboygan to the late Alfred and Laura (Malueg) Foth. She was a graduate of Appleton West High School. On Feb. 20, 1960, she married Richard Katers. Bonnie was a loving wife, mother and grandma, proudly attending all of the activities and events of her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time at the family cottage in the summer, especially fishing. She was an avid Packers fan and enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Richard; one daughter: Kim Kersten and her fiance, James Myers, Green Bay; two sons and daughters-in-law: Brian and Lynn Katers, De Pere, and Kurt and LuAnn Katers, Green Bay; seven grandchildren: Amanda (Ross) Wojta, Jennifer Amenson, Amber Katers, Ashley Katers, Chantelle (Mark) Steeno, Brittaney Katers (fiance, Andrew), and Rachelle Katers; six great grandchildren: Brynleigh, Abree, Bryce, Devin, Caylee and Austin; four brothers and three sisters-in-law: Daemon and Margaret Foth, Greenville, Darrel and Shalby Foth, Longmount, CA, Duane and Jan Foth, Hortonville, and David Foth, Plover; two sisters and one brother-in-law: Karen Selig, Appleton, and Marlene and Dick Pagel, Appleton; Richard's siblings: Earl (Dorothy) Katers, Green Bay, Rita Barwick, Neenah, and MaryAnn Warpinski, Madison; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at Lyndahl Funeral Home, Green Bay, where a parish wake service will take place at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue after 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1484 Ninth St., where a Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. with Father Dane Radecki, O.Praem. officiating. Entombment in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established.
