Patricia Louise (Richey) Robinson, 71 of rural Nevada died on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at her home. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 13 with the family present from 4-6:00 p.m. at Chet Ryan Mortuary, 708 Fifth Street in Nevada. Patricia's body will be cremated immediately following visitation and a memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 14 at the First Christian Church-Disciples of Christ, 250 West E Avenue in Nevada with Pastor Anjeanette Perkins officiating. Burial of the cremains will be held at a later date in the Panora Cemetery.
Patricia was born on September 21, 1940 in Panora, Iowa to Robert E. and Thelma E. (Halling) Richey. She was a 1958 graduate of Panora High School and a 1960 graduate of Thompson School of Beauty in Des Moines. On June 7, 1958, Patricia married George J. Robinson at the Little Brown Church. They resided in Casey from 1962 to 1968 before moving to Nevada. Patricia was a cosmetologist, and was also employed at Donnelley Marketing and Bourns in Ames retiring in 1996. She was a member of the First Christian Church-Disciples of Christ, CWF, Union Pacific Employees Club, and National Association of Retired and Veteran Railway Employees. Patricia enjoyed reading, traveling, collecting roosters, watching birds, playing cards with family, doing jigsaw puzzles, and gambling at Meskwaki. She was an avid ISU fan.
Patricia is survived by her husband, George J. Robinson of rural Nevada; her mother Thelma E. Richey of Panora, 2 sons, Randy (Deb) Robinson and Kenny Robinson, all of Nevada; 6 daughters, Julie (GW) Hackler of Jefferson, Lila J. Robinson, Linda J. Robinson, Jeanna L. (Mike) Holm, Jennelle (Wes) Markley, all of Nevada and Kayla (Gary) Garr of Hartford; 13 grandchildren with 5 spouses; 13 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Bill (Linda) Richey, Tom (Connie) Richey, all of Panora and Steve (Sherrie) Richey of Urbandale; a sister-in-law Mary Anne Richey of Tacoma, WA.
Patricia was preceded in death by her father Robert Richey in April of 2006 and a brother Bob Richey in 2007.
A memorial fund has been established in loving memory of Patricia.
Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada has been entrusted with the care of Patricia and her family.
