Wanda M. Edwards was born October 27, 1926 in Dallas, Iowa to Park and Orpha Miller Wilson. She graduated from High School in 1944. She was married to Ernest Edwards on January 2, 1950 and they were blessed with five children: Cheryl, David, Linda, Don, and Deborah.
Wanda was a hard worker always making herself available to work on the farm or at the car dealership. She enjoyed traveling, camping, the outdoors, gardening, playing cards and jam sessions. She loved her family and especially liked to play games with her grandchildren.
Wanda passed away November 10, 2009 at the Chariton Nursing and Rehab Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Edwards; infant daughter Deborah; daughter-in-law JoAnn Edwards; and siblings: Orval Wilson, Thelma Straup, and Geneva Becker.
She is survived by her children: Cheryl (Ron) Cook of Huntsville, MO, David (Vicky) Edwards of Chariton, Linda (Gary) Steenhoek of Pella, and Don (Sue) Edwards of Altoona; 13 grandchildren: Melissa (Scott) Baxley, Chris Cook, Travis Cook, Tricia (Jeff) Cook, Becky (Kurt) Needles, Katie (Jarod) Young, Amy (Jansen) Stuart, Jeff Steenhoek, Corey (Samantha) Steenhoek, Jodi (Luke) Flory, Sarah (Jim) Duede, Michael Edwards, and Lisa Edwards; and 14 great grandchildren: Andrew, Abby, and Addison Baxley, Maggie Needles, Olivia Young, and Cy Stuart, Daniel and Logan Steenhoek, Kaitlyn and Nicholas Flory, Kassidy, Caleb, and Taylor Cook, and Roland Brown.
