Larry was born September 11, 1955 in Des Moines, Iowa to Jesse W. and Evalee (Greene) Hunerdosse. He attended Melcher-Dallas Schools, graduating in 1974. He was active in sports: baseball, basketball, football, and track. He was also a member of the Melcher-Dallas concert, marching, and jazz bands, playing the alto trombone. He showed hogs at the Lucas County 4-H Fair and enjoyed playing fast-pitch softball with the Newbern team.
Larry married Tammy Dee Scheib Gress, Swisher in 1981 and was blessed with three children: Ariel, Rena, and Eli. Larry and Tammy were later divorced.
He attended Citadel Bible College in Ozark, Arkansas. He dedicated his life to God and was a member of the Newbern Community Church, Chariton Bible Church, and Gospel Light Baptist Church as he moved from one community to another. In each church he was very active in winning souls and leading young people.
He worked on the family farm and the Bob Greubel farm, the Chariton Sale Barn, Hy-Vee Warehouse, Johnson's Machine Works, Kenneth Ruch Plumbing Co., Pester Derby Gas Stations, Agency Truck Co., Nelson's Cabinet Shop, and a self employed carpenter. He was a good carpenter; skilled in construction, electricity, and plumbing.
Larry coached Junior High Baseball, Basketball, and Football; and assisted in High School Football at Central City for many years. He loved sports and enjoyed being competitive; playing beanbag toss, horseshoes, and golf with his family.
Larry enjoyed time with family: bonfires in the back yard or watching NASCAR cheering for Tony Stewart and Jimmy Johnson. He helped Lou Ann with PTO, Post Prom, school activities, building sets for plays, 4-H, and Boy Scouts.

"To Larry's family, We know it is hard to let them go but Larry will never have to go through hard times again. Our deepest sympathy goes out to your family. Larry taught us in the Newbern Church for Sunday School. Your family has to be proud of that since he wasn't that old himself. Treasure the memories always. Just want you to know we are thinking of you. Lori (Greubel) Luedtke"
"Evalee and family, I'm sorry for your loss of Larry. We're never ready to lose those we love. I wish Bob and I could have been there for the services. Bob doesn't know about Larry yet. Kristi brought me a folder. Everyone said the service was beautiful. A flood of memories come to mind when something like this happens. Bob will like the fact that it was mentioned about Larry working for him on the farm. If I remember right I think Larry was ring bearer at Roberta's wedding. Every time I go in the Newbern church I think about all the places we had various S.S. classes. It was so simple then. I can see Jesse ringing the bell to tell us that S.S. was over. We cherish those memories. Larry has been such an inspiration as a christian all his life. You have much to be proud of. What a legacy to leave with loved ones. God Bless your family, Colene and Bob Greubel "

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. The Abodeely's "

You were blessed to have had a father like him. Ariel, Rena and Eli -Larry will greatly missed by all who knew him."

"Ken and I will really miss Larry at our family reunions. We felt privileged to see him at my mother's memorial service in Aug. 2008. Even though he was not feeling well, and went through so much suffering, he had an amazing attitude. That comfort comes only from a loving God who carries us through even the darkest days. We know where Larry is now, and that gives us all comfort. That doesn't mean that grieving doesn't take place, IT DOES. We will all miss him and of course especially those closest to him. All our love to Evalee and the family, Ken & Carolyn Kemp (Larry's Cousin)"
"I knew Larry briefly; mostly associated with Troop 44 Boy Scouts. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. We will greatly miss his support. More so, we will miss his mentorship for the boys in our Troop. He was a hard worker and we will remember him that way. He was easy to talk to and so pleasant to be around. He was just an all-American nice guy. I will remember him as an incredibly brave man. He faced death with an incredible amount of dignity and grace. The Central City community lost a gem of a soul; and at the same time can feel lucky to have him be a part of our lives."
"Our condolences to all of Larry's family. When I heard the news I started thinking of all the memories that I have of Larry as a neighbor growing up, working for dad, playing ball at Newbern, going to church at Newbern, and riding the bus to school, just to name a few. He was a wonderful role model and I hold all of these memories dear to my heart. I hope just knowing Larry is in the most wonderful place now and not suffering anymore will make the loss more bearable. We are keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers."
"I will greatly miss my cousin, Larry. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you who love him and will miss him, especially Evalee, Jack, Etha, Larry's kids and grandchildren, Lou Ann and her kids. With being unable to attend the visitation(s), I have spent much of my day today remembering many wonderful times spent with Larry and the rest of our family: some of the times more current, like the reunions and some of the times remembered were from way back when we went to Grandma and Grandpa Hunerdosse's. We were all so young then and me so SHY! He had a way of getting this shy and hanging back- awkward cousin to get into the fun of things with the rest of the boisterous bunch! I had a few times of glossy eyes and some escaping tears today but much more times of smiles of happy and touching remembered times. Though he will be missed by all of us, I'm glad he won't hurt anymore and am even gladder that he is in his heavenly home and is waiting for us there. I send you all my love. "
"Please know I hold all of you in my thoughts and prayers. May God's peace and comfort be yours now and in the days to come. Blessings, Mary Taylor"
