"To the family of Lloyd Mullins, I am very sorry for your loss. I had the occasion to get to know Lloyd early in my career when I was managing the Iowa-Des Moines Nat'l Bank branch on E. Euclid and Lloyd was managing the Hy-Vee store next door. Lloyd was a great businessman, and I learned a lot from watching his attention to detail and his concern for the customer. Lloyd was also a lot of fun. We installed an ATM in his store and had a "grand opening" celebration there in the aisles at Hy-Vee. Within 20 minutes of my return to the bank, there was Lloyd in the bank lobby setting up a card table and a display of grocery items. He told me that if he was going to dispense the bank's cash in his grocery store, the bank could darn well sell some of his groceries in the bank lobby. Lloyd made an impression on me that I have carried throughout my business career. I know he will be missed by many. My condolences. Lanny Little"

"Dear Glenna and family, Larry and I were deeply saddened to hear about Lloyd's passing. He was a loving, wonderful, kind, and generous man who gave of his time graciously. He spent one full afternoon walking with Larry and me around the square at Chariton explaining what had changed in and around the area over his lifetime. Not being from the Chariton area it was information I probably never would have learned about otherwise. It is an afternoon I will remember and treasure forever. His love for Chariton was as evident as his love for his family. We will miss him dearly, and will keep you all in our prayers."

"Oh how I will miss this man. He was like a father to me. He and Norma meant so much to me. I wish I had been able to get to see him once again but so many things happened in his and my life that it just wasn't possible. I will never forget the times we had in Chariton, Florida and on the computer just sending notes back and forth. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. I pray they are secure in the knowledge that he is free from pain and happy to be holding Norma's hand once again. Becky"
