Beverly A. Beaver, 79, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at a Sioux City Hospital with family by her side.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Riverside Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sioux City with Father Craig Collison officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Sioux City. Visitation will begin at the Mohr Funeral Home, 1000 W. 29th Street, Suite 110, in the South Ride Plaza, South Sioux City, Nebraska on Friday, March 6, 2009 at 4:30 P.M. with the family present at 5:30 P.M. and a Vigil Service at 7:00 P.M.
Beverly was born on August 24, 1929 in Sioux City, the daughter of Lawrence and Laura (Taylor) Desy. She grew up in the Sioux City area, graduated from Cathedral High School in 1948 and attended Briar Cliff College. After college, she married William O. Beaver. The couple moved to Jefferson, SD where they farmed. In 1972 they moved back to Sioux City where they continued to raise 13 children. Beverly worked at Zenith and Donnelly Marketing. She also was a caregiver for her grandson, Christopher. William passed away in 1987.
She was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Family friends and the Catholic faith were very important to her.
Survivors include children: Jerry (Kathy) Beaver of Sioux City, William, Jr. (Marcella) Beaver of Arizona, Patrick (Lynette) Beaver of Arizona, Lynn (Mike) McFarland of Sioux City, Barbara Beaver (Steve McPeek) of Bronson, IA, Raymond (Charmaine) Beaver of Sioux City, Tammy Solomon of Sioux City, Sheryl (Bill) Oehlerking of Hornick, IA, Sheila (Richard) Oligmueller of Dakota City, NE, David Beaver of Sioux City, Nancy Beaver of Sioux City; grandchildren, Eric & Christopher Beaver, Danny Beaver, Jean Metivier, Jennifer, Jerrod and Justin Beaver, Aaron Newton, Michele Evans, George McFarland, Maranda and Mallory Beaver, Rick, Stephanie and Jennifer Oligmueller, Megan, Nicholas, Alyssa and Matthew Beaver, Jarrod and Jacob Solomon, Zackery and Adam Beaver, Breanna, Lloyd, Brice, Kiera and Amari Beaver; sisters, Louise (Charles) Cowden and Jean (Larry) Schuetz; brother-in-law, Ronald Schuetz; daughter-in-law, Candy Beaver; 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Beaver; parents, Lawrence and Laura Desy; daughter, Mary Newton; sister, Virginia (Ginger) Schuetz; 2 grandchildren, Tracy Beaver and Tony Evans.
