Donna Mae Lucille Burmester
May 14, 1924 - January 10, 2012

Donna Mae Burmester, 87, of Hampton, Iowa died on January 10, 2012, at the Rehabilitation Center of Hampton. She was born on May 14, 1924, in Hampton to William and Alma (Borcherding) Burmester. Donna graduated from Hansell Consolidated School in 1941 and received an AA Degree in Business from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa in 1943. She worked for nine years at Ferris Nursery, one year at Davies Manufacturing and thirty years at the Franklin County ASC Office, retiring on January 3, 1985. Donna was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hampton. She was also a member of NARFE and enjoyed photography and her Camera Club. Donna is survived by two sisters, Shirley Whitmore of Hampton and Marilyn (Robert) Seen of Glen Rock, Pennsylvania, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Burial will be held at the Hampton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.

"Donna and I shared the same birthday and ever since I was a little girl we would exchange birthday cards. She was a good friend to my Mother, Lois. We enjoyed reading her letters and she was always interested in what we were doing. You will be missed birthday buddy!! Rest in peace sweet lady."

"Donna Mae was always intersted in what I was doing, because I had moved from the Hampton area to Minnesota. I always enjoyed talking to her, and catching up on family news. I will miss her. "
