Collingwood Rodney "Tuck" Duroe Jr. was born on October 13, 1926 in Cottonwood County, Minnesota to Collingwood and Petra (Olson) Duroe. He was baptized and later confirmed at the Jeffers Methodist Church. He received his education from the Jeffers Public Schools where he graduated with the Class of 1944. After graduation Tuck enlisted in the United States Navy in 1945 and was discharged in 1946.
On August 29, 1952, Tuck was united in marriage to Roberta Davis at the Methodist Church in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with six children, Page, Coll, Wade, Morgen, Cody, and Cade. Tuck and Roberta lived in Jeffers where Tuck was co-owner of the State Bank of Jeffers. He worked there for over 60 years.
Tuck passed away on Monday afternoon, January 9, 2012, at his home in Jeffers at the age of 85.
Tuck was a member of the Jeffers Methodist Church where he sang in the church choir in his earlier years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Windom, a Shriner and a member of the Jeffers American Legion. He will be remembered for his love of crossword puzzles, fishing, reading, and playing solitaire. His family also brought a lot of enjoyment to him throughout his life.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-nine years, Roberta Duroe of Jeffers; five children, Page Kern of Windom; Wade Duroe and his wife, Lori, of Chippewa Falls, WI; Morgen Pederson and her husband, Jeff, of Storden; Cody Duroe and his wife, Lisa, of Jeffers; and Cade Duroe of Jeffers; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Richard L. Duroe of Jeffers; and several other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother, Ann Duroe and one son, Coll Duroe.
