Phyllis M. Person
May 19, 1919 - January 21, 2012

Phyllis M. Person, age 92 of Runnells, died Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Mill Pond in Ankeny. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at the Runnells Christian Church, with burial following at Lowman Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the church. The family will greet friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Runnells Christian Church Building Fund, Mill Pond Retirement Community or Hospice of Central Iowa. The daughter of Bliss and Corda (Park) James, Phyllis was born on May 19, 1919 in Carlisle, Iowa. On May 17, 1942, she was united in marriage to Dean L. Person. Phyllis was an active member of the Runnells Christian Church and also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Runnells. She enjoyed cooking and entering items at the Iowa State Fair, reading, gardening and playing cards.

Those left to honor her memory include her son, Dave Person and his wife Judy of Altoona; two grandchildren, Ryan Person and his wife Jody and Jeni Person and three great grandchildren, Nathan, Emily, and Zachary. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Dean, a great grandson, Benjamin, two sisters, Velma Cleveland and Doris Stuchis and a brother Robert James.
