"I was very fond of Helen Nida. They moved into the house across the driveway from us. They were both just perfect neighbors and we became good friends. I will never forget her. We moved from there shortly before my husband died in 2005. She wrote on her Christmas card that she had lung cancer and I have been praying for her. I wrote that I would come to see her but I would call first and if she did not feel up to company to please tell me. But then I came down with a bad cold (and still have it) so had still not gotten there. I did not know she was in hospice. I am very sad at this news. I wonder too how J.L is doing as Helen said he was having heart surgery on Jan. 16th. "

"I am so sorry to hear of Helen's passing. She was such a nice lady. I recall my sis and I coming to her home when we were teens. She always welcomed us with a smile. She didn't mind us girls coming to hang out with Kathy and Linda."
