"I still can't believe that your gone grandma. You were always such happy person and had a great personality. I'll never forget all of your jokes and staying up to play cards and games. You've been going to the state fair with us for about 10 years now and we always had a blast! We always enjoyed having you come to Minnesota for the week to spend time with us. You always pushed yourself to get better and would never give up. I'm gonna miss our talks on the phone about the latest news, and how I am going to be the president. I know you'll always be watching over me and whenever I'm stuck at anytime I'll just think "what would grandma do?". You were the best grandma anyone could've ever asked for. I will never forget about you gram, and I love you with all my heart ! "

"My favorite memory of Dorothy would have to be when I told her I was going to Florida last year and what she wanted me to bring her back. She quickly without a step said "A Man." I brought her back a cute little seashell man. We laughed with tears in our eyes for what seemed like hours after she opened her gift. I will sadly miss you Dorothy. My prayers go out to family and friends."

"~To My Mother~ ~Dorothy Helen Pollard~ I will forever cherish every day, every moment, and every breath I spent with you. That would include the 25 days spent in the hospital, along with the 19 days at the Nursing Home these past few weeks. I know you worried about me and how much time I needed to give to you, but Mom you where never a burden, it was truly a blessing, to spend the time and give the care to my beautiful, wonderful Mother. I will never regret it. The time we spent together these last few years created a beautiful relationship and solid bond between us, I am so thankful to God for this and as I know you were too. Through the highs and the lows we journeyed together. One day at a time, some crazy, some fun, some happy, some sad, and some were outright hard for me to accept. ??Whatever? as you would always say, we just always kept going. I am so very proud of you Mom, you were an amazing Mother and stronger woman than I had ever realized. Mom you gave me strength, and you will always continue to give me strength. I miss you Mom so much, I love you and you??ll be FOREVER in my heart."

"At my workplace, I had the pleasure of meeting Dorothy while she was working in the cafeteria. She went out of her way to ensure I got the best service possible and I had her over to my place a couple of times for dinner to show my appreciation. She was quite a joker and we had some great conversations. We all missed her when she retired, but she left some good memories behind. Thank you Dorothy!"

"Grandma Dorothy.. those two words sum up the best grandma around. She was one of the most amazing women that I had ever met. I have in my heart so many incredible memories that we have shared and shared with the rest of the family. Times up north at the cabin, family gatherings, and playing endless games of cards on a weekly basis. I remember one time that Bobby and I were having a bad day, and we skipped class to go play cards with grandma all day long. Grandma Dorothy was the grandma that I had never had. One who I could go to for anything any day. I loved her with all my heart and she will forever be in my heart. I love you Grandma and I miss you so much."

"Grandma, best friend, jokster, loving soul; I LOVE YOU SO MUCH! I miss you already, even though your forever in my heart. I know your watching over me, and I know we will meet again, but I dont know what I am going to do until then! Its hard times like these, I really loved being able to stop over. You would fill me in with the latest kidnapping or scandal, and we would joke around till we knew it was time for some cards. Grandma I truly miss you! Everything about you! Even when you where a pain in the butt! I have so many memories we will never forget; the cabin, the Packer Stadium Tour, your first Yankees game, Chinatown (you where right, that turned out to be crazy), all the birthdays and holidays. And all the pictures mom took that we rolled our eyes at, right now I am thankful for them all. Even though I just have pictures left of you here on earth, they bring back the feeling of your warmth, your care, and most importantly your love. GRANDMA DOROTHY I LOVE YOU SO MUCH! AND I PROMISE I WILL REMEMBER YOU EVERY SINGLE DAY FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE!!!!"

Jeanne/Ken Frees wrote on Jan 24, 2012:

"To my loving sister who I will miss greatly. Dorothy and I spoke at least twice daily on the telephone every day. We discussed all our joys and sorrows together. She was a loving sister and very passionate person. Everyone enjoyed being around her . I know she is at peace with the Lord now and will not be in any pain. My husband Ken remembers her fishing on our dock to all wee hours of the night. He could not go to sleep, for fear she would fall off the dock. She had her coffee cup with her, her worms, pole and all the catfish she caught. Poor Ken had to clean all those fish; she just caught them. Her and I always was very competitive. When we were younger she always got pleasure out of snitching on big sister; she got me in trouble many times because of her snitching. She always usually beat me at Yatzee; God could she rattle those dice. Many fond memories I will not forget; she will be in my thoughts and heart always. Your loving sister and also your loving brother-in-law. Jeane and Ken"
