Funeral services for Robert "Bill" Nelson, 79, Tipton, Iowa will be held Sunday January 29, 2012, 2:00 pm at Fry Funeral Home in Tipton with Ron Lashmit officiating. Mr. Nelson died Monday, January 23rd, 2012 at St. Luke's Respice Care in Cedar Rapids. He was a crane consultant for P & H Cranes in Escanaba, MI, Cedar Rapids, IA and Conway, S. C. and later became Vice President of Century Mfg. in Tipton. The son of Albin and Mae Nelson, he was born February 29, 1932 in Escanaba, MI and graduated from Escanaba High School in 1950. He was united in marriage to Sandra K. Levsen on September 21, 1995 in Tipton, Iowa. Bill proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.
Bill is survived by his wife, Sandra Nelson of Tipton, Iowa; children; Patrick Nelson, Coleen Benoit, Paul Nelson, Troy Nelson, Terry Nelson; Stepchildren, Rick Mizaur, Robin Martin and Rusty Mizaur; and many grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his two sons, Scott and Michael Nelson.

"i am so sorry to hear bout Bill... i was his barber for the past 5 years.. always enjoyed him coming into the shop.. he always had stories to tell me.. mostly bout his grand daughter, once he brought her in to get her hair all curled up.. i can't remember her name, but he talked bout her a lot.. very proud of her.. always talked bout taking her to Wal mart where he couldn't say no to her.. again.. so sorry to hear the news
