"I first met Candy 4 years ago when I started working at Baxter Early Learning Center. I was still a senior in high school and pregnant. But every time we talked she was so supportive in every way. As time went on she became an idol in my life. Someone who was so strong and had great advice. No matter how bad my day had been she managed to put a smile on my face. Miss you. Love always. "

"I worked with Candy at Walmart in Newton years ago. I will always remember that contagious smile and her since of humor. I drifted out the door on to another chapter in my life and lost contact until I would see her around Newton or at our daughters activities in Colfax. We met up again one day about 6months ago at Walmart, who would have guess that was where we first met and that is were we caught up on each other for the last time....Candy told me then that she had cancer and that she was fighting for her kids and I told her that its a long journey but well worth it for the kids and family. I also said Candy you are in my thoughts and prayers always and gave her a big hug and that is how I will remember her. Candy is a very caring and loving person and I will miss her always!!"
"I worked with Candy at Baxter Early Learning Center, she had a true gift with children. I lost touch with her after leaving the job, but a few months ago we reconnected on facebook, she talked to me about her cancer, and she had all the faith in the world, and didnt seem to let it get her down. She truely was a amazing woman, that would light up a room. My thoughts and prayers are with her family as you go through this loss, may God hold you and Keep you all. RIP Candy!!!"

"It was 3 year ago last September I was diagnosed with breast cancer myself. It seems like it was just a few months or so after I was diagnosed I heard about Candy and her breast cancer. I remember seeing her at one of our kids school events and talking to her about it. From that moment on, we had a connection. She not only became my friend, but a sister in breast cancer. We had a lot of good talks and did a lot of comparing chemo and surgeries etc. We had our laughs about different things about our breast cancers. Even the "no boob stage"... lol She made me laugh and smile and I her. She was an inspiration to me because her cancer was different in many ways and she had to go through a lot more than I did. I always told her she was such an inspiration for her attitude and smile and spirit to fight the cancer. She was a wonderful Mom and wife. She fought through so much and always stood by her kids. She never let them down. I have always said, my cancer was a blessing. Some may never understand that... but I know Candy did. She is looking down on all of us now and smiling. She knew she left us all with wonderful memories and showed us all what it is to never give up and fight to the very end. I'll miss my talks with her. Seeing her smile. But I thank God he put her in my life. God Bless you Candy.."
