"Who ever said that you can't pick your family? Well, who ever they were, the were wrong. Aunt Mary came into my life about 10 years ago, even though I had been a part of the extended family prior to that for 20 years. Mary became MY family, MY Aunt then. I truly enjoyed spending time with her. She was a warm and very loving lady - and what wit! She had been in my life when I had lost my best friend to a brain tumor. Aunt Mary had great insight to the changes that were happening due to that loss and the changes to my life that would soon follow. Aunt Mary had such a joyful spirit. She had a great love for her family. I will miss her so much."

"Because I have no address for the family, I'm taking this way to express sincere sympathy to you in the loss of your loved one.
Your mother and Dad (Walt and Mary) attended the Millbrook Methodist Church while I was playing the organ for church services. Always tried to be patriotic to support your father's (Walt) pride in the U.S.A. as a Vet, too.
Always truly enjoyed your mother (Mary) at our faithful Ladies Aid meetings -- which are fewer and fewer now. She "graced" our fellowship in a very warm and loyal way.
Really missed them when they moved away, but understood the reasons.
May God walk with all of you during this sad and lonely time, and give you hope and promise for days ahead.
GOD BLESS
A Former Millbrook friend,
Elizabeth Johnson"

They would come to "Little Joe's" in downtown Yorkville every Friday evening for fish and your Dad & I would always exchange a funny joke or two. They also would visit my brother Joe at Bristol Tap for a burger once in a while.. We will miss them both.. Our love to your entire family."
