"DJ, quite simply was a big, huggable guy. I haven't spoken with him since high school, but we had a lot of down to earth, great conversations. DJ was extremely honest, caring, and was an intriguing individual. One time DJ and I saw each other on opposite sides of a neighborhood road, he ran across, through me over his shoulders, and started running; it's a joy to have known you DJ, your going to be missed buddy. "
"I remember dj as a very funny and loving person. He was one of those people who liked you for you and didn't judge who you were. he accepted you for who you were. I loved dj for who he was, rather he was on the mat, on the field, or even on stage. Dj, I miss you tons. I know your watching down on your family and friends. We all love you and miss you tons. I will never forget you. "
"DJ will be missed by many. I remember DJ through wrestling. He was always there with a great big hug.....whether he had just showered or was all sweaty and had just stepped off the mat! Most people preferred his post shower hugs! :) My thoughts and prayers go out to Robin, Darrel, and the rest of the Thurow family. "
"DJ touched everyone he ever met. He had a wonderful presence about him, and he had a smile and a twinkle in his eye that would light up a room. His family was SO important to him -- he loved each of you so very much, and it showed. He related well to ALL people, and his big smile and kind ways made him special to so many people. We will miss him."
"DJ was a VERY good friend. He didnt like it when people he liked were bullied and made fun of. He was always happy and liked to make sure his friends were as well. I remember durring the sennette lock down when he would let me and a few other girls put make-up on him. I will always remember that day."
